Castillo de Santa Ana
Description
The castle of Santa Ana has guarded and defended our town since the 16th century; Roquetas de Mar was an important producer and shipping point of salt from the salt flats. The fortress has a beautiful inner courtyard that is often used for concerts and events, especially during the summer months. Check the cultural agenda: its walls no longer house weapons or soldiers, but numerous exhibition rooms devoted to culture, painting and photography.
But apart from this, it is a delight to enjoy the views that it offers to those who climb the towers. Do not let you to reach out also to visit the lighthouse and the town Hall, which together with the castle together form, in really interesting.

Roquetas de Mar offers a wide range of activities for water-sports lovers: windsurfing, paddle surfing, kitesurfing, kayaking, etc. But it is the incredible richness of its seabed that makes our coast a paradise for diving enthusiasts. In addition, in Roquetas de Mar you will find two marinas.
And if you are travelling with the family, an excellent option to spend a good time playing with the water is the water park Mario Park, or immerse yourself in the marine world in the Aquarium Roquetas de mar.

Description
Punta Entinas-Sabinar, is a privileged place to enjoy the nature: a coastal zone, a protected 15 km where you can learn and enjoy the ecosystem of dunes, sandy beaches, salt marshes, ponds and the wildlife that occupies it, especially nice for lovers of migratory birds and sea birds.

The flea market of Roquetas de Mar, bustling and cheerful, takes place each Thursday on the Avenue European Union. It is a rather endearing where you can find anything from food to clothing. Come take a walk!
And if you are antiques and crafts what are you interested in, or second-hand items, we recommend that you call on the first Sunday of each month is when it is celebrated on the flea market soho in front of the plaza de toros.

Description
Roquetas de Mar maintains a strong bond with the Mediterranean, not only a commercial one through the products we take from it (whether salt or fish), but also a cultural one: the streets, the boats in the harbour, the terraces where you can enjoy some pescaito frito… here, life 'smells of the sea'. And one of the best ways to enjoy it is the gastronomy: our excellent seafood (langoustines, king prawns, shrimp…) and our fish (megrim, sea bream, redfish, red mullet…) become delicious dishes — fried, grilled, marinated or as part of the «arroz a parte», one of our typical dishes, unique to the Almería area.
But not only is the sea generous, this land is known as the Garden of Europe, for the production of quality vegetables and fruits.
